The effluent treatment plant is one of the wastewater treatment systems, which eliminates all kinds of water impurities present in the water. ETP is mainly required for the treatment of industrial wastewater. It can treat all types of industrial waste before it gets discharged into a water body.
Industrial water contains various types of effluent, depending upon the variety of industries. Some industrial water contains hazardous toxic material, oils & grease, food waste, organic waste, etc. which may lead to various kinds of environmental pollution. Thus to avoid the harmful effect of industrial wastewater, it needs to be treated by the best water purification system like Effluent treatment plant.
An ETP plant works on various levels, such as physical, chemical, and biological, to treat all kinds of water impurities. Here we have listed different process which is used to treat industrial waste.
- Preliminary treatment
In this process, the physical separation of large-sized molecules takes place, for example, cloth, paper, plastic, woods, etc.
- Screening
This is the first operation that takes place in wastewater treatment plants. The screen is a device that has a uniform opening such is made for the removal of large floating solids. This process is mainly used to remove objects like rags, paper, plastics, and others. The screening process is done primarily by coarse screening and fine screening.
- Sedimentation
The process of settling the particles to the bottom of the body is called deposition. It is a physical treatment process that uses gravity to eliminate suspended solids from water. In the wastewater treatment process, the sedimentation process is used to reduce the concentration of suspended particles before the application of coagulation.
- Primary treatment
This process is aimed at the removal of the floating and settleable material such as suspended solids and organic matter. Primary wastewater treatment includes both physical and chemical processes for the elimination of the water material.
- Secondary Treatment
The secondary wastewater treatment system includes both chemical and biological processes to eliminate the contamination present in the water. Here in this process, microbial and organic contamination are removed.
- Tertiary Treatment
It is the advanced wastewater treatment process it removes all the contamination, which remains after primary and secondary treatment.
Some Benefits Of Effluent Treatment Plant
An Effluent treatment plant has several benefits some of them are listed below:
- It can treat all kinds of industrial water waste and make its reuse possible
- Lower the use of freshwater in the industries
- Protect the natural environment against the pollution
- Lowers the cost of expenditure on water acquisition
Conclusion
After light and air, water is the most crucial substance to live. But due to the disposal of domestic and industrial waste into water, water pollution is increasing day by day. Thus water treatment becomes essential. As there are various water purification system but having ETP ensure removal of all kinds of effluent from the water. An ETP unit is based on reverse osmosis, i.e., RO technology, to eliminates all types of contamination present in industrial water. This system also contains UV rays to remove all types of microbial contamination present in water.
